Bracketeer carries what other people write: crew chatter, bracket titles, the names you put in a field. Using it means agreeing to keep that civil. These are the same rules you tick on the way in.

The rules

• You are 13 or older, and old enough to agree to this where you live.
• Everything you post is yours, and you stand behind it.
• No hateful, abusive, sexual, violent or illegal content, and nothing that targets a person.
• No spam, no impersonating anybody, no scraping other people out of the app.
• Report what breaks these rules. Block anybody you would rather not hear from.

What we do about it

Every message, bracket and profile can be reported from inside the app with a reason. Reports reach a queue that a person reads. Whoever runs a crew can remove somebody from it, which takes their messages with them. Anybody can block anybody, and a block works in both directions: neither of you sees the other's brackets or messages again.

We can remove content, close a crew, suspend an account or ban a device where these rules are broken. Serious cases are permanent and are not appealed.

Your account

You sign in with Google or Apple. Keeping that sign in working is on you: lose access to the Google or Apple account you used and we cannot get you back in, because an anonymous identifier from that service is the only thing linking the account to you. We hold no password and no email address to recover from.

One person, one account. Do not share it, and do not run more than one to vote twice.

Your content

What you post stays yours. You give us the permission needed to store it and show it to the people you shared it with, which is what makes the app work, and nothing beyond that. Delete your account and it goes.

Bracketeer Pro

Playing is free. Bracketeer Pro is a subscription that removes ads and opens the commissioner tools: larger leagues, custom scoring and archived seasons. It is billed by Apple or Google through your store account, renews until you cancel it, and is cancelled from that store account rather than from us. Refunds are handled by the store that took the payment.

Keeping the app current

An old build can be told to update before it can keep talking to the server, because a version that no longer matches can corrupt what other people see. The app says so plainly and links to the update.

What we do not promise

Bracketeer is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption or free of faults, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.

Ending it

Delete your account from Settings at any time and this agreement ends with it. We can end it from our side where these rules are broken.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the federal law of the United States, and any dispute belongs to the state or federal courts sitting in Massachusetts. None of that displaces a consumer protection you have where you live.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the app asks you to agree again.
